Microsoft Exchange Admin Center:

The Exchange Admin Center is essentially a console where a user can manage ‘mailbox, calendaring and collaboration features.’

It can be managed through online through the Graphical User Interface or using Windows PowerShell & Command Line.

It can be managed through it’s classical console as well. This called Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Management Console (EMC) – Nowadays, this is becoming more obsolete but still has it’s uses from time to time.

From Exchange, we can create ‘transport rules, edit recipient settings,’ create retention polices, manage archive settings and more.

Some settings may be synced through Active Dictionary. This means that some changes, such as SMTP Address can only be done through AD.

The admin center also allows users to manage User & Shared mailboxes, Microsoft 365 groups and Distribution lists.
